A DAYTRIP TO FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE

FRANKLIN TOWN SQUARE

In 97 degree heat at 10:00 a.m. this morning we headed out to Franklin which is about 45 minutes from where we're staying in Goodlettsville which is just north of Nashville.

FRANKLIN SHOPS

Franklin is a quaint place.   It has that small town charm with a town square and a slow paced feeling yet the upscale stores and boutiques are right up to date.

With the temperature in the low 100's we managed to do a bit of walking around but it was just too hot to go very far.

THE CONFEDERATE CEMETARY

We took a drive around and found the Confederate Cemetary located just outside of Franklin.

We headed back to Nashville and stopped in to visit the famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge on Broadway in Nashville.  It's right behind the famous Ryman Theatre and the story is that the stars that sang at the Ryman would come over to Tootsie's between shows.

Stopped for a chat with Elvis and then we headed home.  It was a very long and very hot day.

We're planning on a relaxing day tomorrow . . . no trips, just stay by the pool and relax so I won't be blogging.  We're heading out to Pigeon Forge on Friday.
